About Me and about Therapy. aprilme

About Me

I am a trained, accredited and registered (UKCP-United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy and UKAHPP - Association for Humanistic Psychology Practitioners) Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Supervisor. I have almost 20 years’ experience in London, East Sussex and now Bath and North East Somerset.

Apart from six years’ training (humanistic, UKCP accredited) as a Psychotherapist, I have also done further courses in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Sex Therapy, Addictions counselling, Couples’ counselling and have specialised in working with domestic abuse survivors.

Before training as a Psychotherapist, I worked in Human resources and Higher education Administration.

I work face-to-face short-term and long-term with individuals and couples, for counselling and/or mentoring and psychotherapy. I also supervise counsellors and trainee counsellors and psychotherapists.

I have my own therapist to sort out my stuff, so I don’t bring that into the room to interfere with my work with you. I also have a supervisor, in case something crops up which needs another view, though it is still kept confidential of course.

I keep the first session low cost so that you can decide whether I am the right person for you to open up to. We establish what you are looking for and take it from there, with regular reviews.

If you want to know any more before or during our work together, just ask.
